Casey and Sam spent the last week working a big job for us. It involved a new crown, chase covers, multiple specialty caps, flashing, and masonry work on two chimneys. This was on a high roof on some cold and windy days. Everything went smoothly, they were pleasant and explained things well, and the chimneys are beautiful!

We Offer 3 Levels of Chimney Inspections

There are three levels of inspections, each serving different situations.

  • A Level 1 chimney inspection focuses on readily accessible areas without requiring special tools, and it’s suitable for routine checks when no recent changes to the heating appliance or venting system have been made.
  • A Level 2 inspection includes a video scan of the chimney flue in addition to the Level 1 components, and is recommended when moving in or selling a home, making changes to the heating system, or experiencing bigger issues.
  • A Level 3 inspection is reserved for identifying hazards or issues not detectable in Level 1 or Level 2 inspections, and it can involve the removal of portions of the chimney or surrounding wall.

New Chimney? You Still Need an Inspection!

Despite having a new chimney in a new home, it is still essential to schedule yearly inspections – think preventive, rather than reactive. When it comes down to it, the misconception that everything is automatically safe often leads to serious issues. Improper construction, lack of proper clearance to combustibles, or inadequate insulation can all pose risks, even in new homes.

The National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) 211 standard emphasizes the importance of inspecting all chimneys and venting systems annually, without exceptions, to ensure safety and prevent potential hazards.
